SGNLS was built out of a simple frustration: being stranded is stressful, disorienting, and expensive. Traditional roadside assistance programs are slow, tied to memberships with hidden fees, and disconnected from the communities they serve. SGNLS changes that.
The app's signal-based model — where a driver in distress literally "drops a signal" that broadcasts to nearby verified technicians — is inspired by the idea that help should come from your community, not a call center 1,000 miles away. Within a 3-mile radius, any available Tech with the right capability can accept the signal and be on their way in seconds.
SGNLS covers five core distress types: battery jumps (via portable jumpbox), fuel delivery (gas or diesel), tire changes, vehicle lockouts (via licensed locksmiths), and emergency rides when your car simply can't move. Each service type is matched to Techs who have declared and verified the corresponding capability.
The platform operates a tiered driver reputation system — Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Elite — rewarding consistent, high-quality service with greater visibility and priority in the matching algorithm. Techs set their own availability, work entirely on their own schedule, and build a verifiable service reputation over time.
SGNLS is a product of BASS — Black Artists Surpassing Standards — a creative and technology collective that also operates BlvckMeta, a cultural and financial platform. The two apps are deeply integrated: BlvckMeta users can trigger SGNLS distress signals with a single tap, connecting with nearby roadside help without even opening a second app.

SGNLS is a peer-to-peer roadside assistance platform built for the modern driver. With five signal types — battery jump, fuel delivery, tire change, lockout, and emergency ride — SGNLS connects stranded drivers with verified nearby roadside technicians in minutes, not hours. Built by BASS (Black Artists Surpassing Standards) and integrated with the BlvckMeta ecosystem, SGNLS brings culture, community, and coverage together in one iOS app. SGNLS is available free on the App Store with an optional SGNLS Membership at $5.99/month for priority access.
